I grew up in a small, slowly decaying suburb of Los Angeles. My sister and I used to record period piece radio dramas, complete with costumes, and I figured that the only way I could ever be all the things I wanted to be was to get into acting.
My first job when I graduated high school was as an extra on TV, and it started out pretty good. I was a regular on Saved By the Bell: The New Class, was on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Star Trek: Voyager and American Dreams a few times, along with other not so cool shows, but the violent competition, pettiness, and overall soul-crushing feeling of being judged solely on plastic looks and/or who you slept with made me drop out to go to college and work elsewhere. I switched to theatre and was pleased to get cast based on my talents, and for the added pressure of live performances.
After moving to San Francisco I stopped all the acting work, and gradually switched over to writing. After taking over the city in my own way I moved back to L.A., though not for the reasons you think. I was unfortunate in that I moved right when the economy tanked, and California’s got its own mess on top of the country’s and the world’s problems. So after wasting too much time and gas on interviews for crap jobs that led to nothing anyway, I took it as a sign that it wasn’t meant to be. Catwoman saw a documentary and had the idea to try our hands (and vast collection of costumes) at the Walk of Fame, and here we are. I’d still like to act, though I’m picky and don’t want to get wrapped up in the rat race again. My ego’s still recovering from the first round. I write novels, memoirs and screenplays, and, obviously, blogs. There’s more than one way to entertain people. 🙂
If you’re in the neighborhood, you may see me hanging around the boulevard dressed as Holly Golightly, Padmé Amidala or Batgirl. Come say hi, but only if you have something nice to say. There’s no more room for assholes in my life.
Hello,
very nice video, and I like particularly the catwoman-cosplay. But we can watch just a little part of the costume, what a pity !
Could you do an other video please, in which we can see completely your costume ?
Many thanks.
Hi Hussard, we will definitely be doing more videos. That was more a moving introduction to us, and now that you’ve requested it, we can have a segment where we focus on the costumes more. I just got a rubber-look black catsuit for a different version of Batgirl, so we’ll do a feature on each. Good? 🙂
Amazing- 🙂
Hello, nice to see your video. Have you stopped updating
the site? Nothing has happened since ladt year- sadly.
(didn’t think super heroes gave up). 🙂
Yes, we stopped doing that… catwoman moved to France and batgirl is on her way there. 🙂
